The mission of Caribbean Gives! is to provide emergency financial and other support for Caribbean women and their families facing domestic violence and homelessness challenges in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
Emergency Support
We provide immediate financial assistance to Caribbean women and families in crisis situations, helping them navigate challenging circumstances with dignity.
Domestic Violence Response
Our organization offers resources and support specifically tailored to Caribbean women facing domestic abuse without access to traditional support systems.
Homelessness Prevention
We work to keep Caribbean families housed through emergency funding and connections to stable housing resources in the Philadelphia area.Â
About us
Over the past several months, our community has been called on to help fellow Caribbean nationals in Philadelphia through challenging circumstances. These have included nationals trapped in the United States as a result of the closure of airports and Caribbean women facing domestic abuse without resources.
These needs have been met by a combination of City of Philadelphia resources, non-profit foundations, local Caribbean and African organizations' support, and individual fundraising from concerned Caribbean nationals in the Philadelphia area.
Our structure
Caribbean Gives! was formed as an unincorporated entity to serve as a means by which we can assist Caribbean nationals in Philadelphia during emergency situations in a transparent and effective manner.
Our structure allows us to respond quickly to urgent needs while maintaining accountability and ensuring resources reach those who need them most.
Fiscal administration
We want to express our appreciation to Bishop Stephen Poyser and the leaders of the New Testament Church of God in Philadelphia who have agreed to have the church serve as the fiscal/accounting administrator of Caribbean Gives!
This partnership ensures proper financial oversight and transparency in all our operations.
